Monday - Thursday

[Despite earnest intentions to the contrary, last week had a business-as-usual murder trial. Well, you may not all act noble, but you'll be treated like royalty on this new floor. ...Except by Sheepy, who is still bugging you when you're awake. The strange distortions appear in the air before she shows up before everyone.]

[ Cool, so this is one of the people with permanent roomcards, luring in a kid into her old living space with cookies....

Except we don't know who has a permanent roomcard because Kevin's hasn't turned up with anyone. Fantastic.

Well, time to put these cookie crumbs into an evidence bag...

Generally what type are the cookies? Convenience store? Self-made? Can he tell?

[They don't look like anything that came from the convenience store. It's more likely that they're self made.]

Is there anything else noteworthy in the room if it's looked at more closely? ]

[Crow is late to the party since he only started looking around after he heard the announcement, but... holy shit. Considering how vulnerable kids were, he should probably be surprised that something like this hasn't happened sooner, considering the situation they were in, but still. Fuck.]

Dammit. What the hell happened here?

[Just going to look over the body... what kind of knife is it? Something from the kitchen?]

I assume she was lured into this room with the promise of cookies by somebody who has a permanent room key and could thus have opened it. The cookies were baked with sleep-inducing cupcake icing, leading to Cirno being unconscious at the time of the murder.

[ He's grossed out by a mentality that would allow for the murder of a child but not to do it while the child is awake, really. ]

The more interesting evidence might be in the kitchen, but that is only assuming that is where the cookies were produced.

Sounds like you have most of it figured out. But yeah, the kitchen sounds like a good bet, considering what we've got here.

...Think we should take the knife out? [Just gonna go closer to the body, although he won't manhandle it immediately. Still, when he checks the temperature of the body, how is it?]

[ Mikami has been thinking about the knife before, so he's oddly glad to have Crow here suggesting it as well. He would not have liked to be found alone here with a bloody knife in hand. ]

Without leaving prints on it, yes. I doubt the killer left any themselves, but we can never be too sure.

[Cirno's body had been icy cold when she was alive, so this may be a little backwards, thawing instead of cooling. But the body is close to room temperature now.]

Yeah, I gotcha. [He'll pull his gloves back on after he finishes checking Cirno's body temperature. He'll try as much as possible to both remove the knife without widening or otherwise disturbing the wound and keep his grip from smudging any potential prints too much. Hopefully he didn't fuck up forensics amateur hour!! Incidentally, how long is the knife, anyways?]

[Welp, that sure is a knife. He'll flip it around in his hand to take a closer look at both sides of the blade. Looking at the blood, there are only signs that it was stabbed into the body, right? There aren't any other weird, older bloodstains on it?

Anyways, he'll turn around to face Mikami after he's done looking at the knife.]

Well, the kitchen's starting to look like our best bet if this thing says anything about this.

I don't have high hopes for it, but not checking it would be irresponsible, yes.

[ So after that Aki run-in, to the kitchen they go? ]

[Unfortunately, nothing in the kitchen looks out of the ordinary.]

[SHAKES FIST-- okay no, he won't shake his fist, although well. That sure was anticlimactic.]

Guess we've hit a dead end for now. Any other ideas?

[ Mikami is honestly dead-eyeing at this point. ]

Given our killer clearly has a permanent room key, it seems pointless to search the room kitchens or any of the rooms in general.

Now we know why our previous searches never turned up any good evidence.
