Friday

[ You've all done pretty well this week thus far -- this time no one has even seemed to outwardly give the motive much of a blink or two. Given that this has been the case, it probably ran through everyone's minds that no one this week would bother to commit an additional murder based upon motive, especially since it had been already filled with the sea of three bodies added to the pile. Besides, who would kill for something like Power anyway? Psh.

... It wasn't like people had killed their own best friends for power or accidentally unleashed monstrous abominations in their quest for power, right?

Anyway.

As morning dawns once again and people get up...at around 5-6 am or so, for the early risers they may find something quickly, although whether that somethingis something pleasant is another thing entirely. ]

It's...I'm going to be okay. It just gave me such a shock. I'll just move into the restaurant so I don't get in the way.

[Okay, so he'll tag along as Rean goes to grab some shit and oh. Well, they're having A Moment, so he'll stay silent until then, but.]

You know, normally I wouldn't complain, but this probably isn't the best time to sit around and eat chips. [murderday etc etc]

[ Hmm. How about the storage and laundry area? There's two people, so! ]

Of course it was too much to ask that someone else not die here. Let alone someone who decided to hack the guy into pieces.

[ Vanitas takes in the sight of what Leo's doing and doing a good job not cringing because DAMN that's just brutal stuff right there. ]

...I'd offer to help but i'm not sure i'll be of much help in this department.

[He waggles his finger mockingly, before turning off to the shower. True to his word, he showers surprisingly quickly, although still not foregoing all the necessary components of showering: some fresh scenting, putting his hair in place, obligate bishounen sparkles...yep, he's ready!]

What'd you wanna check out? [This laundry area sure brings back memories of barf and priests though.]

[ Mikami does his check round through the hotel every morning, but this time there's a commotion in the kitchen so he'll just silently push past everyone to....

.... find Leo taking out severed pieces of a green hairy corpse out of the freezer.

... why.

For once, he doesn't even say anything, he just takes a step back and tries to not be nauseated. He may know crime scenes, but some things are just gross on multiple levels. ]

[ Rean stops for a moment, frowning as he scans the area. Give him a minute. ]

... Just making sure all the supplies are still here. If we're going to check, now's a better time than none, right?

[ which is WHY they had to double back to his room real quick, because that's where he keeps his notes after all! ]

[Nepeta offers her arm out with a flair.]

Nepeta inquires if we shall we be off then Purrince?

[The picture will look roughly like this.

There's other food and ice and such in the freezer that has been omitted from the picture. The freezer has always had enough empty space that you could feasibly shuffle around things and get this much room to cram in a body. None of this stuff appears to have been opened or anything. Whatever blood has gotten on it is fairly incidental from being next to everything else.

So obviously there's the Grinch's body itself. His head is attached to his torso, which is attached to his left leg, though his left foot has been cleanly cut away from his ankle. There is a zig-zagging wound in his stomach. Although the wound is wide, it's consistent with a large knife; the edges themselves are not jagged like the glass that killed Mira. There is a circular design drawn in blood on his torso like this. It is represented by a single dark red blood circle in the picture, but in fact all the blood at this scene looks like identical blood.

The Grinch's torso is also missing several chunks of flesh, such as the muscle behind the shoulders. He has been subjected to what the professionals call disjointing.

There is a pile of body parts on the Grinch's left, the viewer's right: The hands are cut off, and the arms, and the right leg, and both feet. These have been put into disparate locations in the picture for ease of distinguishing each part.

Behind that pile, there are also some packages wrapped up in brown paper.

All these items - the body, the pile, the packages - are covered in a moderate layer of frost, similar to the other regular items in the freezer. ]

[Shingo bows with equal dramatic flair. Can't let himself be outdone in the fanciness department, nope! He takes her arm in his with poise.]

As the lady wishes, Purrrincess.

[Yeah, it smells like blood.

She can find some more tongs. The bag is not super heavy, maybe not even full, but it has that squishy feeling that the contents are damp.

Open the bag with the tongs?]

[It looks as though someone recently did some laundry! There's a bottle of detergent sitting on the washer!]

[O....kay. Well.

He puts an arm over his face and tries to get the smaller pieces out, as well as the packages in the back, because he has no idea if they're connected but he may as well get them while he's here, they're no good anymore anyway. When he speaks, his voice is muffled.]

Whoever got him had a real big knife to do it.

[And, as much as he hates to have to look for this kind of detail... Once he's got them out, do the limbs seem sawed off or chopped?]

[Huh, well that's conspicious, but it's not like he visits the laundry room that often, so. Is it empty?]

Looks like someone had a mess to clean up. Do you know if this was here last night?

[ This is hands-down one of the most nauseating things she's ever done, and by now she has pulled a colony of worms out from her nervous system. Her mind instantly jumps to "guts in the bag" even though that wouldn't make sense, seeing as there really wouldn't be a purpose to tossing out organs once you've dismembered someone and stuffed their body in a freezer.

But slowly, tentatively, she opens it, her free hand clapped over her nose and mouth just in case. ]

Why would anyone do this to a perfectly good freezer?

[There are paper towels and one pair of plastic gloves! They're all covered in blood!

There's also bleach on some of the paper towels!]

[Nepeta laughs and grins widely]

Then let us be off sweet Purrince! Away we go!~

[And away they go to the restaurant. The light-hearted bantering was nice while it lasted.]

[ Oh thank fuck. Sakura audibly breathes a sigh of relief.

Again with the tongs, she sifts through the contents of the bag just to make sure she hasn't missed anything. After that, she'll take one more look inside the trash can just to be safe. ]

[1/4th of the bottle has been used.]

... That's weird, yeah.

[ The last time he checked, it was only yesterday morning. Right around when Al was doing his laundry. ]

That wasn't there last time I was in here. ... Did someone use the machines last night?

[ Actually, let's prop open those bad boys just to be sure. Rean's going to check inside for traces of the machines being used. Any traces of water inside? How about smell? ... Fresh laundry which was Most Definitely Not Used For Murder? ]
