Second Investigation
Week 2

Friday
[ You've all done pretty well this week thus far -- this time no one has even seemed to outwardly give the motive much of a blink or two. Given that this has been the case, it probably ran through everyone's minds that no one this week would bother to commit an additional murder based upon motive, especially since it had been already filled with the sea of three bodies added to the pile. Besides, who would kill for something like Power anyway? Psh.
... It wasn't like people had killed their own best friends for power or accidentally unleashed monstrous abominations in their quest for power, right?
Anyway.
As morning dawns once again and people get up...at around 5-6 am or so, for the early risers they may find something quickly, although whether that somethingis something pleasant is another thing entirely. ]

Oh. That guy. Right.
He takes a deep breath, which isn't too great with the smell in the air, but he needs the fortitude more than anything else.
...Of course, the body is... Geeze. Okay. Uh.]
Could you get some of those... [Fuck. He does a motion that's something like a crab claw opening and closing.] --Tongs. We need to get him out of here.
[Though in the meantime, it's probably best to take out that handy dandy camera and take a picture.]

That said, Sakura lets out a shriek, muffled as her hands fly up to her mouth. For a moment, she just stands there, stunned. But once Leo speaks, she begins to move again. ]
T-Tongs...
[ She'll grab a pair from the cutlery drawer and hold them out to him like a holstered gun. ]
no subject
Let's try to use the tongs to push/pull all the pieces out because even if he's got gloves he does not want to touch this, yikes.]
no subject
[ Vanitas takes in the sight of what Leo's doing and doing a good job not cringing because DAMN that's just brutal stuff right there. ]
...I'd offer to help but i'm not sure i'll be of much help in this department.
no subject
.... find Leo taking out severed pieces of a green hairy corpse out of the freezer.
... why.
For once, he doesn't even say anything, he just takes a step back and tries to not be nauseated. He may know crime scenes, but some things are just gross on multiple levels. ]

It's Shingo! With Nepeta in tow since she woke him up, but it's Shingo who speaks up first, looking at the green bits and bobs of grinch being pulled out of the freezer with something akin to disgust.]
...Uh...That's not...breakfast...is it?

I dunno, are you a cannibal?

[Nepeta looks at the way the grinch was cut up]
The Pouncellor is fairly certain that something fishy happened and it's not just that it almeowst looks like the Grinch has been gutted like one. Asshisstant in tow, she purrvays the scene.

There's other food and ice and such in the freezer that has been omitted from the picture. The freezer has always had enough empty space that you could feasibly shuffle around things and get this much room to cram in a body. None of this stuff appears to have been opened or anything. Whatever blood has gotten on it is fairly incidental from being next to everything else.
So obviously there's the Grinch's body itself. His head is attached to his torso, which is attached to his left leg, though his left foot has been cleanly cut away from his ankle. There is a zig-zagging wound in his stomach. Although the wound is wide, it's consistent with a large knife; the edges themselves are not jagged like the glass that killed Mira. There is a circular design drawn in blood on his torso like this. It is represented by a single dark red blood circle in the picture, but in fact all the blood at this scene looks like identical blood.
The Grinch's torso is also missing several chunks of flesh, such as the muscle behind the shoulders. He has been subjected to what the professionals call disjointing.
There is a pile of body parts on the Grinch's left, the viewer's right: The hands are cut off, and the arms, and the right leg, and both feet. These have been put into disparate locations in the picture for ease of distinguishing each part.
Behind that pile, there are also some packages wrapped up in brown paper.
All these items - the body, the pile, the packages - are covered in a moderate layer of frost, similar to the other regular items in the freezer. ]

He puts an arm over his face and tries to get the smaller pieces out, as well as the packages in the back, because he has no idea if they're connected but he may as well get them while he's here, they're no good anymore anyway. When he speaks, his voice is muffled.]
Whoever got him had a real big knife to do it.
[And, as much as he hates to have to look for this kind of detail... Once he's got them out, do the limbs seem sawed off or chopped?]
no subject
[ It's making his stomach nearly turn but this kind of thing has to be done and he'd really like to know who could have done something to vicious and brutal. ]
Perhaps someone was intending to dispose of him somehow..
no subject
[He nods at the marking painted on the Grinch's chest.]
Beats me what that's all about, though. Someone needs to get that blood cultist in here.
[For a variety of reasons.]

The two feet and one leg aren't very striking.
The outside of his arms is
Covered in cuts.
They're little--
He didn't bleed from these... much.]

...Are you sure you can handle this?

[In case people want to get on finding that murder weapon.
The outside cuts on the arms... Do they look like they would've been made with the same type of knife that caused the gut wound? Or something else? And are they on both, and where on the arms? Upper, lower...?]

The Pouncellor examines the scene of the crime with a disappurroving sigh. The Grinch was a grump but he didn't deserve this.

well, ok, there goes any appetite she'd woken up with.
She has to look away for a moment and covers her mouth, because otherwise she's going to lose more than that.
While she's calming down though, she examines the ground around the doorway, specifically the area it would have closed over and the joins on the freezer.]

...Again? Really?
[ The words leave his lips like a frustrated mother whose seven year old won't stop eating coins.
But with the investigation well underway already, once he's had a moment to take it all in, he'll do his part and help out. So, now that he's unwrapping one, what's in the packages? ]

Inside this package is... Meat! It's a rectangular steak chunk of flesh that Al could easily pick up in both hands. It looks plain, not spiced or anything.]

[ You guys now have someone who can actually handle all the gross on the scene. ]

This marking is not familiar to me. It is not at all like the ones my people use. If anything, they more closely resemble those that Beatrice had shown me, but not exactly.
