Friday

[ You've all done pretty well this week thus far -- this time no one has even seemed to outwardly give the motive much of a blink or two. Given that this has been the case, it probably ran through everyone's minds that no one this week would bother to commit an additional murder based upon motive, especially since it had been already filled with the sea of three bodies added to the pile. Besides, who would kill for something like Power anyway? Psh.

... It wasn't like people had killed their own best friends for power or accidentally unleashed monstrous abominations in their quest for power, right?

Anyway.

As morning dawns once again and people get up...at around 5-6 am or so, for the early risers they may find something quickly, although whether that somethingis something pleasant is another thing entirely. ]

[ Figuring he'd come down for a proper breakfast, protein being good for a hangover and all, by the time he arrives, there's a pile of limbs on the floor. With so much death going around so quickly, all he can muster is to rub his hand down his face and sigh. ]

...Again? Really?

[ The words leave his lips like a frustrated mother whose seven year old won't stop eating coins.

But with the investigation well underway already, once he's had a moment to take it all in, he'll do his part and help out. So, now that he's unwrapping one, what's in the packages? ]

[Yes, really.

Inside this package is... Meat! It's a rectangular steak chunk of flesh that Al could easily pick up in both hands. It looks plain, not spiced or anything.]

[ He holds it in his bare hand a moment, thinking nothing of a simple steak, until a thought occurs to him.

He examines the torso, front and back, making a particular note of where the flesh is missing. Is there a chance Al is holding a Grinch steak? ]

[Yes. The steak fits some area of the Grinch's missing flesh, like a glove.]

[ There's a slightly wet thud as the frozen Grinchmeat falls to the floor of the freezer, with Al letting out a muffled, terrified gasp. ]

Oh no... oh god...

Was... was someone going to...

[ Yeah, he's seen a lot in his life, but this is just. Too much. He promptly runs out into the kitchen and just straight up pukes in the sink. Hope y'all checked in there already. ]

[Nepeta being nearby and seeing this as she tries to examine the body. Seeing Al run out and the Grinchmeat fall to the floor, she blinks, shrugs, and sniffs it.]

Blargh! Who'd try to eat this guy? I guess it's less of a waste but still!

[He looks diseased tbh. Nepeta snaps a picture of the grinchsteak.]

Ugh... erm... The Pouncellor picks up the... evidence to fit it back into purrlace... and infurm the others about this less then delicious discovery.

[Oh, her wonderfur asshisstant heard that.]

Wait, I wasn't serious about him being breakfast back then-!

Pouncellor supposes that is a distinct pawsibillity for expurrlaining why to go through the trouble.

[She looks back]

Any luck info gathering wonderfurl asshisstant?

[Nepeta no, don't inflate his ego.]

[Let's assume said asshisstant has been nosing around the kitchen and watching people make their discoveries.]

Mnn, apparently this place was cleaned pretty thoroughly before we got here, so a lot of potential evidence is gone...they found stuff showing what was used to clean it, though, so that's something!

The Culpurrit must have had a lot of time to do all of this.

[She waves a hand in the corpses' direction.]

It looks like almeowst efurryone's here in the kitchen though... so The Pouncellor asks if her asshisstant thinks they should go investigate the suspects.

[She looks at the Grinchsteak she's holding and the state of the body]

Purrticularly Merciless, since this seems waaaaaaaaay too obvious to not be a set up.

Yeah, sounds like a plan...

[Please. Seriously. Let's get outta here.]

I remember she told me that death was a whole...religious thing, and they'd eat the dead at the end so as not to waste...the way that body was painted and cut up, it's a little too obvious...

[He frowns.] She didn't seem that stupid, just...maybe a little fanatical, I guess...

Right! We've got people to talk to and places to snoop around. The Pouncellor and her trusty asshisstant set out to find Merciless and ask some questions!

[And so Purrlock Holmes and Whatson abscond from the room to seek out the troublesome dame.... along with the Grinchsteak. Dammit Nepeta!]
