Friday

[ Another week has come and gone-- albeit with a great deal of excitement. It wouldn't be strange if by the end of the week you had nearly forgotten the week's new motive altogether with everything that's been going on since the middle of the week. But even if you did, that didn't make it go away. It was still there. Waiting. For just one person to give it the proper consideration.

...had someone decided that one person's life was worth erasing to get rid of another?

It no longer seems so crazy, does it?

As another morning dawns, people will rise-- perhaps with every intention of going about their daily routines same as always. But somewhere, a surprise is waiting to be discovered. But what oh what will they find this time? Just maybe it won't be so bad. Or maybe it will. ]

[ At least he's more fluid at climbing up there this time and even dares to put his camera back into his pocket, now fairly sure he won't damage it in the climb as he's done it before.

Back to his spot what does he see this time? ]

[There are four holes, close together, in the thin roof of the teahouse. Close to the edge.]

[ This is... weird. Alright, how far of a jump would it be to the teahouse roof? Does it look stable? ]

[parasomniacs]

[It's not a massive jump - it's doable. The teahouse roof should hold up fine.]

[ ... yeah, he's not sure how well he'll get back down from there but there's a murder to solve and he's so out of it that he decides this is an issue for in 10 minutes.

Time to jump and... gracelessly crawl towards those holes. Any more relevations in close-up? What are they shaped like? ]

[parasomniacs]

[The four marks look pretty uniform, made rather cleanly in a similar manner. They clearly correspond to the three (3) pinpricks of light that he saw, looking up, from inside the teahouse. There's actually a fourth hole, however. It just does not penetrate all the way through the roof to make an actual "hole" in the ceiling. Each hole is sharper on one side. The fourth hole's sharp side faces inward; it's a setup like > > > <.

[ Does this look like claw marks?

Mikami will snap a picture of it in any case. ]

[There are lots of types of claw marks in this world.

Okay I also didn't use the word "tapering inwards so the narrower part is closer to the floor" but that's what they're like. As the picture showed.]

[ Huh.... Anything else notable on the roof? Or does he have to face the issue of getting down now? ]

[parasomniacs]

[There is nothing left for you here, Mikami. Time to get down.]

[ ... yeah. How to get down from here.

After a moment of estimating, he is realizing that he may... need help.

He dreads having to call out to Leo and Mitsuko, but that is his best and fastest chance here and time matters during investigations. So he's Mikami shouting. ]

You two! There is something here!

[forthemoment]

[...Well that certainly stops their discussion. She glances up at Leo.]

This is up to you. I'm not crawling up trees in a skirt.

[Thanks as always Mitsuko.

With a flat look, he sighs and climbs down from his tree, making his way easily over to Mikami.]

What is it?

[ ... for one Leo is probably the better choice at dealing with this, on the other hand why Leo.... ]

There are marks here. I have photographed them so there is no need for you to come up. They look a little like claws, but it may be deceptive.

Also the wind button was taped down and I got a fingerprint.

[ Yes, feels good to sound productive... but. ]

I need help getting the camera off the roof safely.

[ And also. himself. ]

[Oh, that's not too bad (he thinks, not knowing that last thought).]

Toss it down, then. I'll catch it.

Give it back to me immediately after.

[ And then there is a notable moment of hesitation before Mikami can bring himself to truly interact with anyone over cameras again. ]

Yeah, yeah, sure. Are you going to throw it, or what?

[inordertobelieve]

[ ... argh, well he has to now. Here's a very gentle toss of the camera. You can tell Mikami is wishing very hard not to damage it. ]

[lienhearts]

[He catches it easily enough. He's not carrying it like some delicate flower, but he's not being unnecessarily rough with it either. It's a damn disposable camera, it'll be fine.

Anyway, he'll also step back so Mikami has plenty of room to follow.]

[ It's this or asking Leo to help him down... Neither the idea of asking Leo for help nor the idea of jumping down a roof and landing in front of Leo is literally at all appealing.

In the end, he lets his legs dangle off the roof to... sort of slide down. Which then of course turns into a fall that finally ends on his knees and hands.

It hurts. Mikami winces.

But he will not show more weakness. He will get up, pull a face, brush his (kind of scraped) hands off on his already dirty pants and then hold his hand open for the camera. All silently. ]

[...Snerk.]

Here you go.

[The camera is undamaged and untampered with, yay!]

[ He'll keep on making a stoic lineface. Even though his steps visibly hurt him a little. Having the camera back is nice though. ]

[ And disheveled as he looks, he is going to walk back to the body now. ]
