[ Another week has come and gone-- albeit with a great deal of excitement. It wouldn't be strange if by the end of the week you had nearly forgotten the week's new motive altogether with everything that's been going on since the middle of the week. But even if you did, that didn't make it go away. It was still there. Waiting. For just one person to give it the proper consideration.

...had someone decided that one person's life was worth erasing to get rid of another?

It no longer seems so crazy, does it?

As another morning dawns, people will rise-- perhaps with every intention of going about their daily routines same as always. But somewhere, a surprise is waiting to be discovered. But what oh what will they find this time? Just maybe it won't be so bad. Or maybe it will. ]

[She's at least answering... Honestly he'd rather not interrogate her considering she seemed close to Shingo, but she was still a suspect and if they wanted to clear her name, then it had to be done. Better him than someone like Mikami who may not bother to pull his punches. Still, best to start off gently.]

Think I can hang around here for a bit? Gettin' a little too heated up out there for my taste.

[There is shuffling inside the fort as Nepeta makes room.]

Is... Shingo really dead?

Thanks. [He'll just awkwardly shuffle his way inside and sit beside her. It's a little cramped, but he looks comfortable enough. And that question? Saves some time, but.

...Well, no point in lying to her.]

...Yeah. Looks like it. You two were close, right?

Mmm-hmm.

[Nepeta honestly looks like a mess, puffy eyed and sniveling. She's gripping a pair of cracked shades in her gloved hands tightly. She flinches at the confirmation and one of her hands goes to rest on a coat pocket. The olive tinted tears and snot that had temporary stopped resume.]

[Yeah, handling crying kids was never something he's had the chance to get used to. He'll let her continue crying if she needs it, and he'll just pat her lightly on the head a couple of times.]

This probably isn't the most comforting thing I could say to you right now, bu... we're gonna find out who did this. Alright? Think you can hold it together until then?

[Nepeta practically tackles him in a hug and starts crying all over him. ]

[He'll hold her for as long as it takes for her to calm down. It's pretty messed up for her of all people to be a suspect and he's not entirely sure if she's aware of that yet, but at the moment he'll hold off on mentioning anything about it. She doesn't really need to know that people are going to be casting suspicious glances on her now. Not when a friend's died.

If she looks like she's up to it, he'll continue gently:]

You hung out together a lot, right? Can you tell me when you guys last saw each other?

[She eventually quiets down and regains some form of composure. She gives him a grateful look.]

Thanks Crow.

[She's quiet for a moment thinking before replying.]

I last saw him ...at the thing with Hissama Hoclawna.

[She pauses.]


I know I helped buy it and stuff but.... what's a stripurr pole?

[Whew... At least that went okay. But it was yesterday, huh...]

Do you remember around what time? I mean, I saw him then too, but I just chatted with him for a little bit myself.

[But ooookay that's not where he expected this line of questioning to go.]

Uhh... it's something people use for exercise. I'm sure there's a couple of people around here who could show you how to use it after this whole thing blows over. [Oh goddess why does he have to give this explanation to a 13-year old.]

[She tilts her head at his description.]

[She looks at crow oddly.]

Yeah. I wake him up sometimes.

[She giggles.]

You manage to check up on him this morning or was today just an off-day for you?

[Well, it's better to be Nepeta's task bitch assistant or whatnot than to be lynched by the adults soooo...]
