Week 6
Week 6

Monday - Thursday
[ There is a particularly somber atmosphere in the quiet hotel. The day before ended with a terrible miscalculation and an innocent life lost in the name of the “experiment”. Emotions certainly ran high and it would not be strange for those effects to linger into the dawn of the new week. Until now they had successfully determined and executed three other murderers. But the fourth got away. They may not want to face the future yet—but the experiment stops for nothing.
The opening of a new wing would probably be of little solace to them. But it's not long before they are granted a small distraction.
Early Monday morning -- before they’ve even had a chance to properly examine the new floor and it’s rooms -- a text announcement arrives, following a small jingle. The sound is new; different from the announcement tones used during the investigation last week. It’s just as loud and persistent, but there’s an annoying set of four repeated notes in a pattern that lazily imitates a song assigned to this notification.]
Hello participants.
I hope you are doing well this morning and are well rested for the day ahead. There will be a meeting held in the lobby fifteen minutes from now. You will all be required to attend. Any person who is absent will be appropriately hunted down and brought to the meeting place by whatever means necessary. An important change has been made to the experimental proceedings, of which you must all now be made well aware.
See you all in fifteen minutes.

This... I can't believe this...
[ Let's take a closer look at the injuries. Rean will carefully examine them, anyway. What are we looking at here, knife wounds? Though at one point while examining, Rean pauses momentarily, closing his eyes with a remorseful look. This didn't feel right. ]
...I'm sorry, Father. Please forgive me.

The wound in his right thigh is small and round. As anyone would suspect in the hotel where they lost Foley and Al and so on, he's been shot. In fact, there looks like a bullet is still lodged in there.]
no subject
He's not taking out that bullet just yet. Because we're going to wait for someone else first, like Mikami's timely arrival!! ]

Is there any way Rean can get that bullet out on his own? He's not going to try just yet, he's just examining it. ]

Welp time to... remove that bullet then. All he has is a shitty pocketknife but he'll be as careful as possible!! But will he be able to tell the trajectory of the bullet from the wound as he cuts a priest up or what.]
no subject
It looks like the bullet went down into the thigh from a slightly higher point consistent with someone standing up straight when they shot at his leg, and hit the bone on it's way in. ]

The caliber is small, about the same as that other bullet.]

But one last check of the body: how stiff is it? If it shows some stiffening, is it over the whole body, or only parts?]

....damn!
[ That certainly was the first swearword ever uttered by Mikami in all these weeks.
He'll rush over to Rean and the body. ]
How long have you been in here?

[ He glances back at Kevin's body with a grim look. If there was anyone he trusted to have control of the scene, it was Mikami. Rean knew he was far from an expert at this. ]
I can't say for sure, but... he was stabbed all right, and shot. [ He motions to the wound on Kevin's leg. ] I think there's a bullet still trapped inside.
no subject
They weren't able to kill him as they normally kill.
This weapon... It should have been someone's personal possession, if the knives around don't fit...
[ Is there any indication as to whether Kevin was standing or lying down when stabbed? ]

Time to give a cursory glance to the knives around then. Are they bloody?

no subject
...Do you think there's fingerprints on it?
no subject
Nevertheless I wouldn't touch it with bare fingers.
no subject
Damn, what the hell...
[He was salty over the strip search but holy shit?? He actually brought a camera along when he heard the announcement so uh... maybe he should... take some pics?]
no subject
[ Well... let's just pick up that seal then. If there's nothing immediately off about it, Rean will be keeping it on him for now. Let's have a look at that handwriting on the board real quick, as well as a quick glance around the altar area. ]
I still can't say for sure how exactly this went down but... whatever it was, there was a struggle all right. There had to have been one.
no subject
Though considering the body has no further stab wounds, that knife might have wounded the culprit somewhere in between...
[ He pauses, musing. ]
Did Graham even fight with knives normally?
no subject
The writing is in clear yet awkward block print. K-e-v-i-n. Obviously not Kevin's handwriting. Whose handwriting would Rean know?]
