Week 6
Week 6

Monday - Thursday
[ There is a particularly somber atmosphere in the quiet hotel. The day before ended with a terrible miscalculation and an innocent life lost in the name of the “experiment”. Emotions certainly ran high and it would not be strange for those effects to linger into the dawn of the new week. Until now they had successfully determined and executed three other murderers. But the fourth got away. They may not want to face the future yet—but the experiment stops for nothing.
The opening of a new wing would probably be of little solace to them. But it's not long before they are granted a small distraction.
Early Monday morning -- before they’ve even had a chance to properly examine the new floor and it’s rooms -- a text announcement arrives, following a small jingle. The sound is new; different from the announcement tones used during the investigation last week. It’s just as loud and persistent, but there’s an annoying set of four repeated notes in a pattern that lazily imitates a song assigned to this notification.]
Hello participants.
I hope you are doing well this morning and are well rested for the day ahead. There will be a meeting held in the lobby fifteen minutes from now. You will all be required to attend. Any person who is absent will be appropriately hunted down and brought to the meeting place by whatever means necessary. An important change has been made to the experimental proceedings, of which you must all now be made well aware.
See you all in fifteen minutes.

[Shelley notices Estelle's staff and the gardening tools. She doesn't recognize the staff, the seal or the tachi, but the tools are something she kind of associates with Conchita. She's aware Conchita did gardening, after all.]
...I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, Rean.
[She doesn't touch the staff or anything else, trying not to pry that much into people's privacy by getting her hands over everything, but she does look at it, trying to find anything suspicious. The desk drawers get her attention, too]
Can I...take a look here?

[ Rean turns his head away, his expression briefly sinking for a moment. ]
...We'll just have to make sure we find the truth. Not just that, find a way to put an end to this game - because it's gone on long enough. [ There's a momentary pause, still avoiding her gaze. ] I promised them.
[ Inside you’ll find a memo, though curiously it’s doesn’t appear to have been written by him. Nearby is another letter. There’s also envelopes with letters, though if Shelley peeks through them, she’ll find that they appear to be personal letters in the event he’s gone…
Moving onto the next drawer, she’ll find something very interesting. It’s Leo’s Legendary Knife. Nepeta's kitty ear hat is tucked away nearby. But that’s not all, there’s one more item of note in there. It’s a dagger. In fact, it’s the sacred royal dagger that Albert had on him. ]

[She has resigned to the fact more people will die.
When she sees the hat she finally deduces Rean has quite the collection of dead people mementos. The letter is briefly read -- but only the first line before she puts it aside. Privacy, after all. The memo is obviously not written by Rean. Another item from a dead person? Maybe.
Since there was no suspicious item like a key card or anything, she moves onto the closet]

[ Still... how many more people were they going to lose? How much farther do they have to go?
Shelley will find several outfits belonging to Rean, as well as some clothing provided by the hotel. All seem to fit a guy of his size, with nothing looking out of place for the most part. There's a long green scarf draped over one of the hangers.
Inside the closet, there's a box on the floor, with a couple bags sitting nearby. Though Shelley may recognize some choice items of interest sitting on top of them: four knives. Two of them are Hazama's butterfly knives, in fact. ]

Why so many knives, Rean?

[ Rean's answer is straightforward enough. He doesn't seem to mind the questioning. ]
Better someone keep track of them then letting them fall into the hands of someone dangerous, you know?

[You're not the epitome of trustworthiness -- mostly because Shelley hasn't talked to you -- but you also don't look like a murderer in the making. She guesses it's fine for Rean to keep the knives. Besides there's a box. The bags had the knives on top of it, and she suspects that's the most interesting part about the bags, but the box...
Hm, may as well open it slowly and give time for Rean to protest if it's something she shouldn't take a look at]

She won't be finding a surprise arsenal inside, unfortunately. Instead she'll find... selfies. A ton of them. Some featuring the recently deceased too. Noticing a pattern here? ]

You and Crow seem to be good friends. He's a good guy, I like him!
[She comments, hiding how sad she's starting to feel, and looks away from the selfies, going to the bed. She's starting to want to run out of here, so she wants to check the bed and go away even if she hasn't entered the other parts of the bedroom. Guess if you don't want Shelley do a good investigation you just need to depress her]
