Week 6

Week 6

Monday - Thursday

There is a particularly somber atmosphere in the quiet hotel. The day before ended with a terrible miscalculation and an innocent life lost in the name of the “experiment”. Emotions certainly ran high and it would not be strange for those effects to linger into the dawn of the new week. Until now they had successfully determined and executed three other murderers. But the fourth got away. They may not want to face the future yet—but the experiment stops for nothing.

The opening of a new wing would probably be of little solace to them. But it's not long before they are granted a small distraction.

Early Monday morning -- before they’ve even had a chance to properly examine the new floor and it’s rooms -- a text announcement arrives, following a small jingle. The sound is new; different from the announcement tones used during the investigation last week. It’s just as loud and persistent, but there’s an annoying set of four repeated notes in a pattern that lazily imitates a song assigned to this notification.

Hello participants.

I hope you are doing well this morning and are well rested for the day ahead. There will be a meeting held in the lobby fifteen minutes from now. You will all be required to attend. Any person who is absent will be appropriately hunted down and brought to the meeting place by whatever means necessary. An important change has been made to the experimental proceedings, of which you must all now be made well aware.

See you all in fifteen minutes.

tibkins: Someone help me (This is way too awkward)

[personal profile] tibkins 2017-01-04 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think I'll do it anymore...he may have killed someone, but I don't think I could do something like give him tampered food. I suppose I'll eat the cupcake myself, it'd be a shame to let it go to waste.

[She's petty when she's angry, but once she calms down, well, chances are she won't do a thing.

Inside the appliances thankfully there's nothing, she learned her lesson once she damaged the microwave downstairs. The trash bins are filled with balls of paper, looking inside one will reveal it's Shelley's notes from the cameras, most of them about people who are dead. She's starting to come to terms with all the deaths, finally.

Under the bed there's...there's a photo of the folding screen from the very first week. It's heavily scribbled on both sides. On the image itself there are question marks and mostly an attempt to find anything that could indicate it isn't her intern's handwriting, while on the other side there's a short text:

'Lottie. I don't know what's going on, but if you're involved in all this I just want to tell you I'm sorry if I did something that made you angry. I just want to know why you'd do this'

Judging by the blotches of ink and the smudges, this was written all the way in the first week]

nevergraduating: but to go for an all or nothing gamble. (sometimes you've got nothing left--)

If that's the case, mind if I take it off your hands? Wouldn't want you to spend the rest of the week crying, after all.

[It sure would be a waste...! And just think of all the pranks you could pull with that? Not that he's going to say that out loud, but.

The trash bin notes are kind of morbid, but he gets it. And, well... he feels like he intruded on something he shouldn't have when he finds the photo, which was probably a given considering the nature of room searches, but... he'll just slip that back underneath the bed. The last thing to check seems to be the sofa and after that... well, he'll cross that bridge when he gets there?]
tibkins: So what if I did the second? (There are things you can do...)

[personal profile] tibkins 2017-01-05 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
...sure, I suppose. Go ahead and take it.

[She glances at Mikami, who undoubtedly is watching the procedures with his perennial frown. Oh boy, Mikami, she hopes you won't intervene and take it away from Crow because she really doesn't want to have to eat it herself]

It's just a cupcake that makes people cry, there should be no harm to give it to you, Crow.

[The sofa has nothing. She hasn't been here long ago to cram it full of stuff, apparently!]

nevergraduating: (like a dagger right through the heart.)

Don't worry, I'll keep it safe. [And not shove it down Duke's throat nope. He'll pick it up in a bit, but first...]

Okay, so you probably don't wanna hear this from me, but we're also planning to frisk everyone. [And there are only guys here right now whoops??] I don't think you'd want either of us to do it, so... how 'bout we stick to emptying your pockets and taking off your shoes for now?

[Although if she's actually okay with being frisked then, well. That's also an option.]
tibkins: I'll do anything to obtain it (Someday there'll be a statue of me)

[personal profile] tibkins 2017-01-05 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have to draw the line here. No frisking me, you two.

[Merciless checking for injuries was one thing, but this is entirely different. She's indeed taking off the shoes and showing the contents of her pockets. There's just a pen, a notepad and her key, nothing else]
nevergraduating: c'mon, it's not like it's for money! (anyone up for a game?)

[personal profile] nevergraduating 2017-01-05 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeeeeah, I was expecting that. [But as long as she completely inverts her pockets he won't bother her to do anymore. However, he will take the shoes and feel around to see if anything's been hidden inside. If she's wearing socks too, he'll make sure to see if there's any... weird lumps there.]

Alright, I think you're pretty clean for the most part. We might see about getting someone else to frisk you later, but I think you're good for now. [Unless Mikami has anything else to say, they're probably done with being invasive??] Thanks for cooperating.
