Week 6
Week 6

Monday - Thursday
[ There is a particularly somber atmosphere in the quiet hotel. The day before ended with a terrible miscalculation and an innocent life lost in the name of the “experiment”. Emotions certainly ran high and it would not be strange for those effects to linger into the dawn of the new week. Until now they had successfully determined and executed three other murderers. But the fourth got away. They may not want to face the future yet—but the experiment stops for nothing.
The opening of a new wing would probably be of little solace to them. But it's not long before they are granted a small distraction.
Early Monday morning -- before they’ve even had a chance to properly examine the new floor and it’s rooms -- a text announcement arrives, following a small jingle. The sound is new; different from the announcement tones used during the investigation last week. It’s just as loud and persistent, but there’s an annoying set of four repeated notes in a pattern that lazily imitates a song assigned to this notification.]
Hello participants.
I hope you are doing well this morning and are well rested for the day ahead. There will be a meeting held in the lobby fifteen minutes from now. You will all be required to attend. Any person who is absent will be appropriately hunted down and brought to the meeting place by whatever means necessary. An important change has been made to the experimental proceedings, of which you must all now be made well aware.
See you all in fifteen minutes.

For that matter, what is anyone supposed to do with this transformation?
Mikami does not seem quite able to decide on an answer to that question, so he just stares. It's a stare somewhere between surprised, impressed, and highly skeptical.
There sure is a pause here.
And then a very lame question: ]
So there actually are dragons in your world?
bless mikami for his muted reaction
They don't really change. He's always had those four fangs. Most of the time, however, his mouth doesn't open enough to get as good a glance as Mikami just did. ] ... No. It's not dragons, it's dragon. [ There's a reserved quality to his tone and his words come out just the slightest bit slower. He's reluctant. It shows in his voice and the way his gaze steadily drifts away from Mikami's face. ] That's a long story, but you don't have to worry about it. There's no way that monster is here.
[ It's not that he's trying to hide anything, it's more that there's no reason to talk about Acnologia. And, quite frankly, part of him is still afraid of the dragon. ] What about you. No dragons?

And dragons will probably not invade his, right. ]
No dragons. They are mythological creatures and in the past people may have believed them to exist, but there is no actual proof of that. My world is only inhabited by regular humans and animals - though what is regular to mine may not be regular to your home?
[ Hey look, this is his room door. He'll open it and then give a glance to Sting. ]
You can come in.
[ It's not quite an invitation, but it is an offer. By now Mikami has realized it is fairly easy to cut a conversation shorter with Sting so letting him into his (now fairly big) space doesn't seem as invasive anymore as he once feared it would be. ]

Yeah. There are a couple of people in my world that don't believe in them either.
[ His heart momentarily constricts as he thinks of Lector and all his friend went through for his sake. Sadly, he can't dwell on Lector for long when Mikami's inviting him in. With a quirked brow of mild surprise Sting holds up a hand in gratitude. ] Thanks. [ Yes, he does indeed recognize this as new! Mikami's finally starting to believe in the power of friendship. Obviously.
He walks into the room without a second thought and stops in the hall. ] Feels weird to have all this space. I was getting used to the close quarters.

Really? I used to live in smaller spaces when I was younger, but the weeks here were hardly enough for me to stop feeling trapped.
[ Ah. ]
Not that we're not still trapped, but it's good to have a bit more private room again.

He looks down at his feet and lifts one of his feet off of the ground. ... Yep. No getting these things off. Not when it's connected to his chaps, which are in turn connected to his pants. He sets his foot back on the ground.
What was Mikami saying? ] Oh, yeah. I dunno, personally I didn't mind the doubles that much. Having company ain't all that bad.

You're probably more used to it, with your guild and all. I've lived alone since I before I was 20, I'm accustomed to having space to myself.
