Friday

[ Another week, another death... with last week's mistake still fresh in their minds, how will they fare this time around? Will the weight of it crush them or will they find themselves refined into sharp, clear diamonds? An answer is nigh-- because once more an eerie silence fills the hotel. That feeling that something's just not right may be familiar to them by now. They may sense it...

...that someone had decided that there is an injustice in the world worth killing for.

Although it may take them some time to deduce this-- they will find that the source of the ground and first floor levels of the hotel. It is not immediately obvious but some may get the sense that they are being watched. No doubt Sheepy will be watching them during their investigation and making sure things go by the books. ]

I went back to my room. I checked the bandages I had on then went to sleep.

[ though duke did you really expect something different after what you had told him? ]

[ It's protocol, jeez. What if Yuri decided to have a late night snack okay?? ]

I see...tell me how you feel about this week's motive. As in, inform me in great detail as to why you would have not acted upon it?

[ nah he's got snacks and food in his room!! ]

Great detail? I hope you're not expecting a damn essay.

[ that said though ... ]

If there was someone who I thought deserved it then I would have acted upon it. If there was someone then things might've been different.

[ Are you going to share, Yuri. ]

I see.

[ ... what the hell else is he supposed to ask here, uhm. ]

Yuri, as you are now, do you believe you'd have been able to take on someone who had superhuman strength, speed, and senses?

[ maybe after they finished talking. but only if duke asks! ]

... Not without the risk of reopening my wound.

[ Okay time to ask for all the snacks, ty for being a pal, Yuri.

Duke's countenance looks mainly the same as always, but ... seems to shift to something indicative of vague satisfaction at Yuri's answer. ]

...When did you wake up?

yuri points to the tablet beside him on the sofa. ]

When that thing woke me up.

[ like it does every friday. ]

... I believe that is it, then.

Unless you wish to inform me of something else as well.

[ Duke will stare intensely after these very words. Sorry for this, Yuri. ]

[ WOW. THAT'S ... some stare. ]

No. But I would like to know what you think.

[ do you think he killed sting, duke? ]

I believe you are innocent.

You couldn't have killed him in your current state.

[ ... That was probably quick and short to the point, but it is what he thinks, so. ]

[vigilantims]

[ yuri nods his head at that. makes sense to him. ]

Then we're done here.

[ IT'S BEEN NICE TALKING WITH YOU DUKE ]

We're done with the questioning, but I am not done with you yet.

[ He sounds irritated at Yuri's statement, and he wonders if he... should be. Probably not, but he is. ]

[ he raises an eyebrow at that ]

What more do you want?

[ That wasn't a reasonable-sounding answer.

He really hopes that Yuri will come out of this alive. But he's just not sure what to say here. He just didn't probably want to leave it on the note Yuri had before. ]

... No, nevermind. We have done all we can for now.

[ He moves to walk off. ]

... Whatever you had on your mind. Sure you don't want to say it?

[ you know... just in case he doesn't get the chance to do so later

he actually doesn't want to leave you with any regrets duke. ]

[ That will have him halt in his tracks. ]

...In reality, it is possible I did not intend to say anything at all.

[ Typical Duke, right? But, he continues nonetheless. ]

I was simply dissatisfied with that being the end of our exchange until... the time I may be able to see you again.

[ heh. yep. typical duke. ]

I didn't know you cared so much.

[ the comment is light and sarcastic. please don't take him seriously here duke ]

I'll see you later. I'm not done with you yet, either.

[ better? ]

[ Duke stares pretty hard... a little confused. He took him seriously for a moment -- then he considers the idea that Yuri means it in a light-hearted manner. ]

I will also see you later, then.

[ Regardless, he does sound satisfied, and then when he does take his leave its less in a frustrated manner. ]
