Monday - Thursday

[Despite earnest intentions to the contrary, last week had a business-as-usual murder trial. Well, you may not all act noble, but you'll be treated like royalty on this new floor. ...Except by Sheepy, who is still bugging you when you're awake. The strange distortions appear in the air before she shows up before everyone.]

Yeah, it was acting up last time. We ended up finding something inside it last time... records, I think they were.

[ though pretty WEIRD records honestly!! ]

[... Well. Actually.

Another song plays.

Once it plays long enough to presumably get a message across, it switches to K1 and G1. Then abruptly A1 L1 and finally whatever this is.]

Yeah, they had some weird news report on 'em--

WOW RUDE?? What did they ever do to deserve this......

...Yeah, well fuck you too buddy, he covered for you and this is what you give him? Guess who's inputting F1 and U1. Who cares about the second part, Crow doesn't.]

[ ...Wow, Father Kevin, do we need some soap for that mouth? Rean looks at Crow and Yuri for a moment, baffled. ]

...You know, I think he's mad. Is he mad? He kind of seems mad.

[ ...Though that's quickly cut off when Rean sees Al's name light up, along with the song. He feels his heart sinking for a moment, his thoughts escaping. ...Is it really him? ]

[There was a bit of a delay. As soon as Y1 L1 is inserted, they get another play of Cee Lo, followed by another L1.

And then some of this!]

[ Well. Don't things seem so exciting right now? He'd only been down in this area of the hotel on a passing chance and with three of the other guys in here by the jukebox, it's hard to ignore this. So hope there's nothing wrong with four of them being here because Vanitas practically pops up from behind them, looking between them and then at the jukebox.

So exciting. Hopefully. ]

My... just what's going on in here, exactly?

[The song changes again. Now it's some Rap song. Are you hip enough for this, Vanitas??]

[Okay after all that fucking around with jukebox!Kevin, let's get back on task. So, to Vanitas':]

Looks like we're getting a line over from the other side through this thing. Could be a joke, but this happened last week and we got a couple somethings out of it, so if it's the same, then maybe we'll see something interesting.

[BUT WOW THAT SURE IS SOME HIP SHIT MAN!! Better than Rean's weenie songs! ...Although...]

Uhhh... think they want us to check out that locker?

[ Truth be told, Rean had kind of tuned out earlier with the earlier song. To a point he looked a bit lost in thought, even. Which means he might not have realized Vanitas walking in, but now he'll regard him with a brief nod. ]

Could be. If that's the case, I wonder what we're going to find this time? Think it's another news report?

[ ...Though Rean is going to punch in a couple choice picks: R3 and S5. He'll input V1 too, now that Vanitas is here. ]

[OK you get a pretty weird song in response now.

And then, a big stream of A2 A8 A5 A3 A2 A9 A4 A5 A9.]

[ yuri's gotten the idea about the numbers and letters now. the whole kevin thing was ... ahaha. ]

Guess we oughta check. But we should make sure this thing doesn't give us anything more be--

[ oh. guess they are. okay either it's just screaming or-- ]

Someone catch that?

[ he's pretty sure he did but just in case ]

[ W o w. That music is... odd. He's never really heard anything like that before. Though thankfully he can focus more on Crow, nodding quietly in both assent and mute interest, catching something from Rean that mentioned a news report before the jukebox started to play music again.

Taking out his notebook he kept with him, along with a pencil, he jotted down the series of numbers that had flashed with the buttons on the machine with a soft hum. ]

I did. It's an odd set of numbers and if it goes hand in hand with your locker you mentioned?

[ He holds up the notebook to face the others. The numbers clearly list 2 8 5 3 2 9 4 5 9 on the page. ]

I'd bet that those numbers are the key to getting into it. What do you think?

Yeah, we should give it a try. Guess we should hustle down now, right?

[What will they find? ...But before that... Eh, one last message for the road sounds good. Crow will put in T1 and D1 into the jukebox.]

Alright, let's go.

Yeah, let's--

[ But then, a song plays. Rean stops, looking back at the jukebox with a distant look. ]

...Actually, just go on ahead without me. [ He pauses. ] I'll catch up, there's just... something I need to take care of first.

[You get this for your trouble, Crow. Enjoy.]

[ ... it might have been a message for Crow but Yuri's just going to put in a N1 and O6 in return.

are they done with you yet jukebox ]

Sounds like a good idea to me.

[ He's entirely good for leaving but Crow insisted on inputting something else there, not realizing that one of the songs that had played was initially the reason for why Rean looked like that just now. Frowning a bit, he decided to leave it at that when the next song played and Yuri tried his hand at putting in something. ]

This seems fun and all but we probably should get going here.

[The Cat plays.

Followed by Kill You, Sir Duke, The Threat Is Real, Vengeance Is Mine, Is That Clear.

They'll have to look up the song titles to get the actual message but. Jukebox salt is plentiful...]

Yeah, probably.

[Not that. That stops him from just standing in front of the jukebox and checking out the song titles but. SORRY VANITAS they are busy swimming in this sea of salt holy shit. Um... how does he respond to this. Eh. He'll press O3 and K5?? Maybe Yuri will take a message though.]

[Before you go. There's another R1 S1.

And then...]

[ Now that Rean's finally on his own, he'll make his way over to the jukebox. He's staring at the buttons with an unreadable look...

He already knew who was on the other end, after all. There were so much things he wanted to say, so much he wanted to get off his chest, but it wasn't easy... especially when this seemed to be their only line of communication.

He'll punch in two songs... A3 and L2, his free hand resting against the frame. ]

[parasomniacs]

[This method of communication is pretty inconvenient. Still, he gets a response.]

[ It certainly is... and yet it still manages to bring a small smile to his face nonetheless. The past few weeks haven't been easy on him, for sure. This week wasn't much better, with the motive announced... And now there's a constant sense of anxiety present deep within his chest. He tried so hard to ignore it, to pretend it didn't matter. ...But now, now he can't run away anymore.

At the very least... this offered some form of comfort - some way to take things off his mind for now. It was no lie he missed Albert after all. When the current song is done playing, he'll select this track and let it play. ]

[Musical telephone: still happening.]

[ He can't help but chuckle a bit at the song title... Keeping his free hand on the jukebox, he might lean in a little closer as his forehead lightly grazes the upper frame.

On a scale of 1 to 10 just how badly does Rean need to get better taste in music? ]
