Execution for Week 7
Week 7 ‹ Execution ›

Sunday

Sunday
victims

scapegoat

Once everyone has placed their votes in, the trial finally comes to a close. The dream scenery fades from everyone's sight into the oblivion that comes with those sleeping, and the world of the waking materializes in front of everyone as they wake. The tablet beeps obnoxiously with the words urging them all to head to the Ballroom. Once they all gather into the ballroom, the irritating beeping noise stops and the doors close shut behind all of the participants. The room is much more than large enough to fit all the participants, considering so few of them are left, and yet it still feels claustrophobic, perhaps because the robots from Keenan's execution, the lions who executed Nepeta, and the small monsters that executed Leo, are still here.
...Although everyone will notice that Crow is already within the Ballroom before they even entered. Jesus Christ, is he armed?

[ He knew from the start that he'd end up being resented for his actions... and honestly, that hardly even bothered him. It wouldn't have been the first time, after all. ]
...As I said before, you remember what happened to Adelaide, right...? How she ended up dying from the poison. ...It wasn't just her that day.
[ As he steels himself, he takes in another breath. ...This wasn't an easy thing for him to recall. ]
You see, Dr. Chavez mentioned something else that week: that the poison was being administered in random doses. And Alexia's case... though it started off mild, it ended up taking a turn for the worse. By the end of the week, she could barely walk... let alone stand up on her own. I just... couldn't stand to see her suffering like that. So I asked her if there was anything I could do for her...
[ And if Vanitas checks the USB feeds... He'll indeed find that Rean was carrying a very sick Albert for most of that Thursday afternoon up until he brought him up to his room. ]
...And she asked me to kill her. To put an end to her suffering.

Pushing back that memory, he focused on Rean as he explained what had happened with Alexia that week. Only at the end did his eyes widen, all other thoughts coming to a halt right then. ]
...A mercy killing. Put her out of her misery and suffering. That explains now why I heard she'd been smiling when her body was found.
[ Forgive him. He looks a bit pale now because shit. He can actually relate to that kind of sentiment because he's had to do a mercy killing before; back home when a vampire too far gone needed to be saved and the only way to do it was to use his book to kill her. She'd been asking him to kill her before she did anything else and he remembered the bitterness that came with it, so knowing that this was a case where it was a person Rean liked would have made it even worse than that. ]
I feared that week i'd lose Noé with how badly poisoned he was, and unlike you I wasn't strong enough to carry him around or anything like that. I just got to watch him suffer and not knowing if he'd live much longer... I doubt I could have ever killed him, even if he'd asked me as Alexia did with you.
[ Damn it Rean. You're bringing out this stupid sentimentality in him and it HURTS. Make it stop. ]
