Friday

Ten participants wake up in the participant staff rooms this morning. It's the first Friday in a while that there isn't a decrease in their numbers - though not without other costs: Two of the hostages have been lost. There's still that last motive hanging over their heads, an unconventional one. Can they handle the challenge?

It's quiet... too quiet...

INTEREST AREA X: DEEPER INTO THE GARAGE

[Past the devices there is a lot of space. It's not really subdivided into smaller rooms so there is a lot of room. There is just a sea of robot wreckage. There is a path through the wreckage to the back of the room but it is sufficiently distant and dimly lit that the content at the back of the room is not immediately obvious.

Closest to the front of the room is a set of three desks. The middle one is empty. The right one is staffed by a headless feminine robot. The left one is staffed by a handsome male robot both of whose arms have been cut off. Thin X-acto type knives litter the floor nearby.]

[ well isn't this a nice big room to explore!! we'll eventually get to that back but first let's take a look at the three desks and those robots?

not that yuri knows robots but maybe there's something of interest to him? he'll go ahead and take a look at those knives, too. what cut off those robots heads and arms and is there any distinctive features about them.

... other than that male one being handsome. female one would look better if it had a goddamn head. ]

[The manner in which the joints were damaged seems consistent with the nearby knives - the multiple strokes since the blades are smaller than the bots.

The legs of the robots are built sitting in the desk seats; it doesn't seem like they are sophisticated enough to get up and walk. There is a knife in the female robot's hands. There are plain black-covered notebooks at their desks with nothing written inside. The desk in the middle has a legal text and manacles built into the seat.

Behind the row of desks is a giant frog with axe blades for teeth. The front looks mostly okay but it has been smashed from behind. Two arms consistent with the handsome male robot are in the space between these areas. The smash wound is much larger than either of the arms, it is about the width of a robot torso but not precisely.]

[ ah-hah. so they are the culprit. he'll take a few of those knives then. not only evidence but more weapons.

but okay. first thing's first before the weird giant frog let's take a closer look at what's around the desks. anything up with the knife the female robot is holding? he doesn't really care for the plain black-colored notebooks (though guess he could take one for evidence eh why not) but let's try taking a look at that text and manables built into the seat.

not that he'll have any idea what it means but hey might mean something to someone else. ]

[The knife is similar to the other knives. The way her fingers are curled around it almost more closely resembles the grip that one would have on a pen.

The book is open to a page about the importance of the principle "innocent before proven guilty".

The manacles have some chain behind them. It is easy to imagine that the chain could eject to grab someone far away, then return to this retracted position, where the manacles would bind someone to sit in the chair at the desk.]

[ ... huh. well he'll keep the grip in mind as he goes to take that knife too. and woah hey he actually knows that principle. not sure of it's importance to whatever is happening here but he'll take the book after folding the page down to "bookmark" it.

before he does that though the manacles and the chain behind them catches his interest more.

... if he tugs on the chain would it retract or does it do nothing. basically does it still work at all. ]

[Yes he can tug on the chain and it will slot back into place. It doesn't try to latch onto Yuri's wrists though.]

[ well good that'd be awkward!! but now that he knows it works he'll note that before turning his attention to the giant frog and the robot arms.

first off can we identify what damaged the back of the frog? since it apparently wasn't the arms that did it ]

[ While Yuri is checking out the robots themselves, he'll come forth himself, begin to ... probably look around at the walls and floors themselves to see if there was anything else on the floor or things that could be missed.

After that, he'd probably head to the back of the room by default to look at the other things. ]

[The walls and floors overall have an underfinished basement atmosphere. There is nothing all that striking about the exposed wires.]

[ ...Alright then he'll move on from his spot.

Once he's making his way through the wreckage, how long does it take him to get to the back of room area and what does he see? ]

[The cells where the hostages are being held.

There is a clearing before the cells which is probably the original location of the videos depicting them all in one place. There are also two large, filled sacks lying here, about six feet long.

Some of the hostages have looked up at the movement. That is pretty much all they do, though. There is no reaction, no emotion on their faces. Even Duke's own hostage, Raven.]

[ Duke easily comes to the conclusion that the sacks contain two certain deda hostages, and then he'll check to see if he could open the cells.

He notates the lack of emotion on their face, but he's taking care of this first. The implications don't look too good, though. ]

[The cells are like jail cells with dense iron bars.]

[ ...... So he wouldn't be lucky enough for keys to be lying around, huh. ]

[It looks like they would unlock with physical keys but there are none lying around.]

...Raven? Do you know who I am?

[ He'll just. Ask. ]

[Shelley belatedly followed Duke and Yuri, not even attempting to talk to them. This place sure is large...and there's a lot of robot wreckage.

May as well dig a bit. Is there anything she could recognize? Anything to find, too?]

[There is a trail of the copyright pages of Shelley's published books. It leads to a printing press that has a much larger and heavier stamper than strictly necessary for anything but smashing skulls.]

[She was sure the book had been brought from her world. Aw. She approaches to examine the machine closely. No skulls have been smashed here, hopefully!]
