Week 5

Friday

[ One more week... gone. This the worst of the lot yet. The beginning of the week saw all but three introduced to a dangerous poison without any warning-- some worse than others. One even died in the poison's wake. The most cruel and heartless motive yet had been unleashed without mercy, even upon the staff. What did this mean for the end of the week, as the effects grew more and more potent?

...had someone decided that the good of the many outweighed one person's life and ended it?

...

This time there is no question.

When morning comes, the long days of suffering has ended at last for all those who had been poisoned throughout the week. It may take a bit before you hit your healthiest stride, but the ill-effects have gone leaving only one question-- who has died for your good health. ]

Found this in the elevator as I was going down to the ground floor. Checked for prints, but there were only glove prints on them.

I found Conchita-san in the garden as I was heading to the tearoom. There was a lamp from the gift store next to her. She has bruises on her neck that match the lamp's cord, but it must have been held to her skin fairly loosely.

These scraps of cloth were in her hair, as well.

[Submitted to evidence is a bear trap. It's unused. Along with that is a note in Yeager's handwriting.]

Duke's room had nothing relevant to the case besides the bear trap. A search of his person revealed no new injuries from last night. His clothes were also untouched with no signs of damage.

I spent most of Thursday in the manga cafe.

However, I took a swift break at 8 pm, to speak with Yuri Lowell. 9 PM the stripping incident occured, and at 9:30 PM, I spoke with Yeager for 30 minutes.

I returned to my room and fell asleep. I awoke briefly at 8am, believing it a dream when the pain associated with poison had completely dissipated.

I searched her room and it was very Merciless. Blood glyphs everywhere and the trash and fridge were empty. Yes, she also had her friend Polly in there. The shower looked like it had been recently used.

Her item of question was a rope.

Also she had five knives on her person. She says that if we used luminol blood would show up due to her using them to make her glyphs.

She was helping me with the strip search last night and claims that after that she went to her room to sleep. She woke before the announcement.

Someone was creating gas. The footprints in the flour match the shoes found in the laundry room, that were originally from the gift shop.

[ A picture of the gift shop. As can be seen black shoes, black pants and a black shirt have been taken. They are a generic one-size-fits-all type of size. ]

[ Mikami's notebook of finger print references has been submitted, you know, literally just in case.

The characters whose prints are in are Noe, Kevin, Top Dollar, the late Alexia, the late Nepeta, Shelley, Merciless, Duke, Conchita, Manfred, and Mikami himself.

Two usages of fingerprint powder have also been provided. If unused, Mikami is eventually going to come pick them back up along with the book. Please be wise with his things, alright? ]

After having been strip searched at some point between 9 and 10pm last night, Leo claims to have slept until this morning. When he woke up he took the elevator downwards and in doing so found the bloody knife together with Kevin Graham. Afterwards, he went to the convenience store and then returned to his room where he was present at the time of his room search.

He claims to not have spoken significantly to the victim within the last weeks.

A further strip search has been performed and showed no changes in the state of his body as compared to the earlier investigation. The search was conducted by me and witnessed by Rean Schwarzer and Crow Armbrust.

When we opened the door to her room, it stank like flammable oil. We found the source of the smell in the bathroom - looks like her item was the accelerant and she'd dumped it out into her bathtub, and recently, too. It looks like a lot of it was already gone, since we couldn't recover much of anything back.

There was also a burnt out candle around, but it didn't seem like it'd been used in a while. Everything else about her room seemed alright, although I swear she's stockpiling food.

I was trying to pay my respects for Estelle just after her body was found. I argued with Kevin about it and Conchita had yelled at me to stop. We had a few angry words but the fight was quickly over when Merciless cut in and knocked me out.

I woke up later and went to the locker rooms to be searched. After that I went to my room, ate a little snack, and went to bed. I didn't want to be around anyone else after that fight so in the morning I stayed in my room after waking up and then went to the convenience store to get more food.

That's where I was at when the body announcement happened.

I took a better look at Lady Conchita's body to further inspect her injuries.

She bore bruises around her neck from likely a wire and one stab wound to the right side of her neck. Very clean and precise. As well, there were additional injuries on her abdomen. Two on her left side and a horizontal gash that went from her middle over to her right side and seemed completely haphazard and unnecessary.

The wounds appeared to be made from a knife from the kitchen but didn't appear to be nearby her body. I suspect the killer discarded it elsewhere.

We found a couple of glasses with alcohol and a broken bottle in her room. The bottle looks like something found at the store instead of any of the bars. It looked like only one of the glasses had been drank from and the stuff didn't smell like it had anything weird in it or anything. Everything else seemed like it was in place though.

Mikami, Rean and I found some pieces of black clothing in the washer. According to Mikami, they were ones that came from the convenience store, and were one-size-fits-all. Considering it still smelled like detergent around, it was probably pretty recent. The shirt that went along with it was partially burnt up though.

We found a pair of handcuffs placed in a box with some other papers, although they weren't related to the case. Also found a map of sorts tracking who in what rooms were sick, but that's all. Oh yeah, also found something else in the microwave.

I was searching the room with Rean and Mikami. There was a corrosive knife and rope around, although he said the knife was given to him by Nepeta from weeks ago. He was storing some pocketknives from the convenience store in his drawers. There wasn't anything else weird, except how much he loves his hair dye.

[At some point, some liquor from Leo's minibar and some volumes of his detective manga show up in the evidence box, all without a note.]
