Second Investigation
Week 2

Friday
[ You've all done pretty well this week thus far -- this time no one has even seemed to outwardly give the motive much of a blink or two. Given that this has been the case, it probably ran through everyone's minds that no one this week would bother to commit an additional murder based upon motive, especially since it had been already filled with the sea of three bodies added to the pile. Besides, who would kill for something like Power anyway? Psh.
... It wasn't like people had killed their own best friends for power or accidentally unleashed monstrous abominations in their quest for power, right?
Anyway.
As morning dawns once again and people get up...at around 5-6 am or so, for the early risers they may find something quickly, although whether that somethingis something pleasant is another thing entirely. ]

Is that what that awful smell is? Yes, it would be good to investigate that.
[ Stopping short, he couldn't help but watch Mitsuko as she headed toward the freezer. ]
no subject
She sees a figure.
What's wrong with him?
He isn't dinner.
On the side is a pile
Leg; two arms, hands, and feet.
The scene smells vile
His body isn't complete.
Green fur covered skin
Leg, stabbed torso, and head
No two ways to slice it:
The Grinch is dead.]

What did you find?
[He's got a good guess, naturally, but he can't help if he can't see it.]

Wh...what is it...?

Oh. That guy. Right.
He takes a deep breath, which isn't too great with the smell in the air, but he needs the fortitude more than anything else.
...Of course, the body is... Geeze. Okay. Uh.]
Could you get some of those... [Fuck. He does a motion that's something like a crab claw opening and closing.] --Tongs. We need to get him out of here.
[Though in the meantime, it's probably best to take out that handy dandy camera and take a picture.]

That said, Sakura lets out a shriek, muffled as her hands fly up to her mouth. For a moment, she just stands there, stunned. But once Leo speaks, she begins to move again. ]
T-Tongs...
[ She'll grab a pair from the cutlery drawer and hold them out to him like a holstered gun. ]
no subject
Let's try to use the tongs to push/pull all the pieces out because even if he's got gloves he does not want to touch this, yikes.]

There's other food and ice and such in the freezer that has been omitted from the picture. The freezer has always had enough empty space that you could feasibly shuffle around things and get this much room to cram in a body. None of this stuff appears to have been opened or anything. Whatever blood has gotten on it is fairly incidental from being next to everything else.
So obviously there's the Grinch's body itself. His head is attached to his torso, which is attached to his left leg, though his left foot has been cleanly cut away from his ankle. There is a zig-zagging wound in his stomach. Although the wound is wide, it's consistent with a large knife; the edges themselves are not jagged like the glass that killed Mira. There is a circular design drawn in blood on his torso like this. It is represented by a single dark red blood circle in the picture, but in fact all the blood at this scene looks like identical blood.
The Grinch's torso is also missing several chunks of flesh, such as the muscle behind the shoulders. He has been subjected to what the professionals call disjointing.
There is a pile of body parts on the Grinch's left, the viewer's right: The hands are cut off, and the arms, and the right leg, and both feet. These have been put into disparate locations in the picture for ease of distinguishing each part.
Behind that pile, there are also some packages wrapped up in brown paper.
All these items - the body, the pile, the packages - are covered in a moderate layer of frost, similar to the other regular items in the freezer. ]
no subject
He puts an arm over his face and tries to get the smaller pieces out, as well as the packages in the back, because he has no idea if they're connected but he may as well get them while he's here, they're no good anymore anyway. When he speaks, his voice is muffled.]
Whoever got him had a real big knife to do it.
[And, as much as he hates to have to look for this kind of detail... Once he's got them out, do the limbs seem sawed off or chopped?]

well, ok, there goes any appetite she'd woken up with.
She has to look away for a moment and covers her mouth, because otherwise she's going to lose more than that.
While she's calming down though, she examines the ground around the doorway, specifically the area it would have closed over and the joins on the freezer.]

...Again? Really?
[ The words leave his lips like a frustrated mother whose seven year old won't stop eating coins.
But with the investigation well underway already, once he's had a moment to take it all in, he'll do his part and help out. So, now that he's unwrapping one, what's in the packages? ]

[God, it's about enough to ruin her appetite already...]

[ He makes a gesture to the door, to open it so he could take a look inside for himself. This is bad and of course inevitable someone else was going to die here. ]

[She grasps Mitsuko's arm back, wrapping one arm around her protectively, her dismay and worry clear on her face. Again? Why--
Her eyes trail from Mitsuko to the open freezer, and her discomfort only grows.]
In there....?
no subject
The green man--the Grinch, I think he was called--he's... he's gone.
no subject
[She should go in and investigate. She really, really should. She gives Mitsuko a light, reassuring squeeze.]
Are you going to be ok....?

Why would anyone do this to a perfectly good freezer?

No!
[He's running to see and... ugh, this is worse than he's seen too. Suddenly he feels pretty sober and better...]
Did y'all just find this...?
[His voice is soft, but there's definitely a sense of urgency. And seeing those who are horrified, well...]
Hey, y'all just standin' there, let's get out. Best to investigate other places.
[His tone is a little harsh, but it's commanding, definitely...]
