Friday

[ Another week has come and gone-- albeit with a great deal of excitement. It wouldn't be strange if by the end of the week you had nearly forgotten the week's new motive altogether with everything that's been going on since the middle of the week. But even if you did, that didn't make it go away. It was still there. Waiting. For just one person to give it the proper consideration.

...had someone decided that one person's life was worth erasing to get rid of another?

It no longer seems so crazy, does it?

As another morning dawns, people will rise-- perhaps with every intention of going about their daily routines same as always. But somewhere, a surprise is waiting to be discovered. But what oh what will they find this time? Just maybe it won't be so bad. Or maybe it will. ]

[At half past six in the morning, there is a tenor scream in the garden.]

[She's just heading towards the convenience store for food when the scream hits. Time to head over to the garden. Anything amiss?]

[ Mikami is tired and grumpy and tired. Being 1/4th through his check round in the morning, he was just about to go down to the ground floor, but... this is not something that sounds good. He tenses up immediately. Time to change the direction of that elevator to UP.

Is there anything he can see when he carefully peeks through the garden entrance? ]

[It was already past the time to get woken up by the Rean Alarm Clock this morning, so Crow peeks out of his room for a bit before he hears that yell and--

Shit. He'll be making a dash for the western stairwell. Anything weird on the way?]

[ After Rean splits off from Crow and Conchita, the first thing he'll do is to carefully check the rooms along the residential hall. Any that look like they might have been used recently, or left open? ]

(frozen comment) BODY DISCOVERY ANNOUNCEMENT

[At around 6:40 in the morning, an audio announcement comes from the tablets. It's okay for your character to sleep through it though. Sandra Chavez does not care either way.]

The body of Shingo Sawatari has been discovered. The doors of the suspects and victim have been unlocked. After a short period of investigation, curfew will be enforced. Please feel free to submit any evidence that you find pertinent into the mail room.

[The unlocking doors in question belong to Shingo, Al, Nepeta, Top Dollar, Kevin, and Noe.]

[Well, uh. His door is open, though he's not exactly going to be thrilled about people just randomly going through his stuff; he'll be staying in the room, both in the event of questions and also just...because he's kind of out of it and as such he's going to be standing over by some unoccupied stretch of wall and...smoking, really, trying to get some nicotine in his system so he can at least pretend to face the day.]

[Naturally, nothing is stopping anyone from investigating his room once the door's open. Hop on in.]

[This being his first time on this side of things, the vampire isn't quite sure what he should be doing-- whether that's investigating or making himself available for others' questions. For the time being he's decided to make himself available for anyone who might want to talk to him and go through his things, standing in the hallway by the door to his room. He looks disturbed, but well-- it's not exactly a great position that he's in.

At least he only has himself to worry about this time. If one of the people he cared about most were involved too...]

[Kevin was up at a decent hour, but he decides it’s best not to really leave his room yet. Instead, he’s sitting at the edge of bed in his priest’s garb reading his testaments. Fridays typically haven’t been good days, so the plan was to go to the ballroom and start setting up a sanctuary once he heard an announcement. If one was made.

For now, yeah, holing himself up in his room to decide how he’s going to face this day, and then the announcement happens. Okay, out he goes—

—and so much for that idea.

Well, guess he’s staying in his room.

He’ll be seated on the end of his bed reading his testaments again.]

Top Dollar

[...Well, good morning to you guys, too.

Top Dollar doesn't seem like he's in much condition to make himself available for questioning at the moment, given that he doesn't appear to have responded well to the announcement. Or, you know, responded at all, given that he's thoroughly passed out and apparently Sandra Chavez don't give a fuck about the people who decide to sleep in.

At the same time, his room is unlocked, so there's that.

He probably won't take kindly to someone just barging right on in, given that he is utterly fucking asleep until he's made to be otherwise, but if that's how we're going to get shit done today, that's how we're going to get shit done.]

[ Al will wait patiently just outside his room, feigning dignified calm, but visibly extremely nervous. He was in his room when the announcement was made, and as soon as he heard the door unlock, he knew what was coming.

What exactly has the young princess so worried, however, is anyone's guess. ]

[Crying can be heard from inside the ballroom. If anyone goes inside to check, it'll be clear that it's coming from Nepeta's box fort. The entrance is open, so if anyone wants to crawl inside, they can. About 3 people should be able to fit inside comfortably and there is light shining in from the uncovered areas of the roof.]

MAIL ROOM

TRAIL + POOL NOODLE

I found a trail leading out of the garden, down the stairwell and into the gym. I met up with Crow and Rean along the way. In the gym, I found this object in the pool, which also had some blood in it.

GARDEN

[First up is a card with a note:]

Was blown down from a tree? in the garden.

[As well as a scrap of fabric.]

This was found caught in the branches of the tree above the body.

BODY EXAMINATION PHOTOS + BRANCHES

[There's a few pictures of Shingo's body, including pictures of his broken neck, the bloody fracture on his face, dirt on his hands and front, and the torn spot on his coat. In addition there's pictures of the branches found underneath his body. Attached is a note from Mitsuko as well as a couple of the branches found.]

He was found face down, scratches on his palms seem to indicate that he tried to stop himself from falling. The fracture on his skull and the broken neck seems to indicate that he was unsuccessful. In addition, the branches underneath him match the tree he was found under.

Leo found a piece of cloth in the tree and Mikami was the one to take the pictures.

Everything is neat.

Notable subjects:

1. There is a cat named Murr.
2. A rose pellet and Noe's room key were found in the small compartment within the table.
3. Shingo's key was also located in Noe's room (confirmed by room test).

Return to the Garden: The Returnening

[ So, after submitting the pool noodle as evidence, she's returning to the garden to get her supplies--but not after going over it with a fine-toothed comb since she knows it best. Anything the others didn't notice? If not, she'll poke her head into the planetarium just in case. ]
